Deco M5 Not Connecting to Internet. How to Fix?

 


There are many reasons why your Deco is not connecting to the internet, such as missing a step during the Deco M5 setup and deco nodes not configuring properly with the main node. Not connecting to Internet

If your mesh system worked properly but suddenly stopped working and showed an error saying no internet connection. Resolve this issue by following the below steps:

  1. Make sure your main node is connected to the modem properly.
  2. First of all, check all the Ethernet cables and LAN ports are in good condition. If there is any damage in the cables and ports, fix it.
  3. Try power cycling on your Deco devices.
  4. If your devices are set on static IP, set them on the dynamic IP.
  5. Move all electronic devices from the Deco system, which creates interference to the signals of the network.
  6. Reset all your connected nodes and pair again into the Deco app.

Setup Deco Nodes Properly

It is crucial that every Deco WiFi node is set up and configured correctly for the optimum Deco WiFi experience. Set up your Deco M5 devices using the instructions below.

  1. Place your main node near the modem, and connect it to the modem with the help of an Ethernet cable.
  2. Connect the power adapter properly to the node and plug it into the power socket.

After connecting your node to the modem, now you must adjust all the settings of the main node via login to the browser and Deco app.

Login Via Web Interface

  1. To login via URL, first you need to connect your computer device to the deco network with Ethernet cable or using an SSID and password.
  2. Open any web browser on the computer and type URL tplinkdeco.net or IP address 192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
  3. Now, a login page will open. Enter the admin username and password.
  4. Click on the login button, and the web interface dashboard will open. You can adjust settings and add new nodes on this dashboard.

Configure Via App

  1. Configure nodes via app is easy and the best way. Connect your mobile with the DECO network with SSID.
  2. Install the Deco app from the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iPhone.
  3. Simply open the app and create an account by entering your email and phone number for OTP validation.
  4. A interface will open. Here, you can customize all settings and add new nodes via app.

Restart Deco Nodes

Reset to Factory Default Settings

The reset process is used to restore the default factory settings of the Deco nodes. There are two methods to reset the nodes:  manually, and the second is via app.

Reset Manually

  1. To reset manually, insert the paper clip into the pinhole that is present behind the device.
  2. Press the paper clip for 5-10 seconds; it will take a few minutes to reset.
  3. When the reset process is complete, you must need to configure the Deco device again.

Reset Via App

  1. Simply open the Deco app and login to it.
  2. Select the node that you want to reset, and clicks on the setting option.
  3. Here, tap on the remove or delete button to reset the node.
